The Talisman

The Talisman

By Gene Romolo

In this atomic age,
When earth is quivering
From blasts of bursting bombs
And uncertainty,
And fear like specters stalk,
Dark-shadowing the way,
There is a talisman,
If treasured in the heart,
Will rift the pall of gloom
That dims the glorious ray
Of intelligence
And make less long the plod
Of over-weary feet …
The talisman is God.
