From Te Karere, January 1949 –

(You probably remember that Te Karere was the magazine of the New Zealand Mission, like the more familiar Millennial Star was the magazine of the British Mission; also that a “hui tau” was the annual conference of the New Zealand Mission, which included several days of feasting and cultural events as well as religious sermons.)

  1. My father was at this conference. He served in Nelson, New Zealand from 1948-1950. He says he remembers Matthew Cowley speaking at the Hui Tau. He doesn’t remember Elder Dale, the illustrator.
