From a 1948 letter by Thomas E. McKay (former mission president, and among the first Assistants to the Quorum of the Twelve. Such Assistants were later transferred into the First Quorum of the Seventy, when that quorum was organized on the general Church level in 1976 — previously only the Seven Presidents of that Quorum had been called. This, along with the 1976 canonization of the Vision of the Redemption of the Dead as part of the Pearl of Great Price, transferred to the Doctrine and Covenants in 1979, and, of course, the 1978 restoration of the priesthood to all worthy male Latter-day Saints, were dramatic events of the ongoing Restoration, to those of us old enough to appreciate them.)
