Let’s Talk About Polygamy / Brittany Chapman Nash

I would really like to read and review this book … unfortunately, Amazon keeps sending me the wrong book. Same thing has happened to a friend, which suggests the same thing may be happening more broadly. I suspect some incorrect product information has been supplied to Amazon by Deseret Book.

Has anybody actually seen the polygamy book, or is it a figment of Deseret Book’s imagination? Or maybe this is viral marketing to stretch my mental health to the breaking point?

  1. I saw copies at the FAIR Conference, so I know they exist. But can’t speak beyond that. I didn’t hear her talk, either, due to socializing and finishing my own.

  2. That’s what I got instead of the polygamy book, too.

This happened to me a few years ago with a different item. (Star Wars ballpoint pens instead of the mechanical pencils I had ordered.) After paying for one pack, but returning two and keeping three, I just gave up. Someone had put the wrong barcode label on them, and Amazon didn’t care enough to have a human being respond to my feedback/complaints. Off I go to try for better this time!

  3. Thanks for the confirmation from several directions. I kept the first copy because it looks interesting enough to read, sent the second one back, and am waiting for what will undoubtedly be the third incorrect book. I’ll return that and wait for a few weeks before I try again (sorry, Brittany).

Yes, I know I could order it from DB, but I’d end up having to pay shipping to do that.

  4. I now have a third copy! (Two are on the way back; I kept one because it looked interesting enough.) I’ve told Am*zon that they have incorrect product information, but I’m not going to risk ordering again for quite a while.

  5. When I tried to get a replacement for the second one (third time’s the charm?), the website said it was no longer available. Hoping that means they’re at least looking into it!

Meanwhile, I am annoyed that they wouldn’t let me pick the same drop off location for both returns. At least I have a few weeks to get them sent in.
