Our deepest snowfall fell the year
That winter came reluctantly.
Thanksgiving found the flowers here
And unshed leaves on every tree.
Each morning held a hint of frost
Which sunlight dusted off again
From lawns where little green was lost
And storms meant only gentle rain.
But far above the peaks sat, white
Wool-shawled around their sunset flame,
their skirts spread purply black as night
And talked of snow. It came. It came.

Wow. So good, so good.
One of my favorites! And I think it’s one of Grandmother’s best. Thanks, Ardis!
Very beautiful. And it describes the weather this year so far. And and the snow that is predicted.
