Lovely Day
By Marianne Ketchum
Oh, Sunday is a lovely day,
All quiet and serene.
We scrubbed the house on Saturday,
There’s nothing left to clean.
The ice box’s full as full can be
Of puddings, tarts and pies,
And in the cake box Mother has
An extra fine surprise.
Oh, Sunday is a day of rest
And I helped make it so,
For I help Mother all day long
On Saturday, you know.

Hahahahahaha……
I wonder if another poem was written from the mother’s point of view?
