Latter-day Saint Images, 1978 — Aloha Edition

Today’s page in our family photo album comes from 1978 issues of Ke Alaki’i, the student magazine of BYU-Hawaii Campus (as it was generally called for a few years in the transition from Church College of Hawaii to today’s BYU-Hawaii).

  1. Fun photos! I went to the Language Training Mission there; the first semester that it was retitled BYU-H, and then returned to Oahu ten years later in the Air Force and with a family. I can tell you for a fact, you never really get rid of the roaches. You simply let geckos (Hawaiian lizards) live in your house, because geckos eat them. Most people from the mainland won’t admit to it, but that’s what you have to do. And I’ll go on record saying that there were even geckos in the temple. 🙂
