A Prayer
By Mabel West Lillie
That she come back to her pain,
Dear God, I could not ask,
But only strength each day
Without her cheery presence here
To do my task.
For her warm smile to light my way,
Dear God, I do not pray;
But only courage, staunch
And vivid, lovely memories
To light each day.
