  1. All hail to the mighty mustache. It seems that Bro. Grover didn’t comply with the trend. I started mine 2 days after my mission release. My family (wife, children and grandchildren) have never seen me without it. I hope to be resurrected with it as it so part of me. I even (oh gosh) served in the Temple with it. But last time someone asked about serving, they implied that I’d have to cut it. I asked was that a real rule, never heard back from them, lol.

  2. Here are links to each of the missionaries in the Early Mormon Missionaries database, with years of service in parentheses:

    • Grover Eugene Christensen (November 1915–October 1918)
    • Christian Peter Sorensen (November 1915–March 1918)
    • Moroni P. Stark (June 1915–October 1917)
    • Hans Christiansen Peterson (October 1915–June 1917)
    • Christen Sorensen (October 1915–June 1918)

Hans Christiansen Peterson served in Scandinavia once before (1885) and was called at the age of 57 as a seventy to this mission. Even though the names do match exactly, I’m fairly certain that is the same person as Hans J. Christiansen.

  3. I really would like to see mission presidents or seventies these days with mustaches like Hans’. It’s fantastic.
