Logan Temple Receipt, 1945

Keepa’ninny cameron shares this image of a receipt from the Logan Temple for payment by Einar Jensen, a Church member, to reimburse someone for the time they spent in the temple doing ordinance work for two men in Brother Jensen’s family file. cameron recalled this Keepa post and realized that the time of this practice, and the number of temples engaged in it, was broader than known when that post was written in 2011.

Thank you, cameron, both for this receipt and for remembering something you learned about here.

  1. cameron, one of the best things to come out of Keepa’s run is what readers like you send in — either guest posts of stories from history that interest a reader, or the hidden ephemera like this receipt. There’s just no way to go out and hunt for these things; they have to be offered by the people who hold them, who — without Keepa — might not even know that other people want to see them.

  2. So 50 cents per endowment. That would be about 7 dollars today. Not too bad but not a living wage.
