Maybe a member of ZZ TOP or the cast of Duck Dynasty, his look is very contemporary. He does have that stare that says ‘don’t mess with me’.
Exactly. His long hair says, to me, “I don’t give a damn what you think.”
Not enough camo for duck dynasty. It’s going to be a good day.
Thanks. I needed that.
Halfway through her mission, my daughter sent a note, needing a picture of OPR. Evidently one of her companions was not familiar with Mormon history and wouldn’t believe in the existence of such a person without photographic evidence.
If I still lived near Lehi my day could certainly be made better by a visit to “Porter Rockwell’s Steak House” on Main Street. YUM!
I’m a little late responding to this post but…..
My great grandmother was a young girl whose family had just settled in Millcreek, in the Salt Lake valley. She and her sister had jobs working at a local inn serving guests. They were instructed that when Porter Rockwell came in, he would have his dinner then rest his head on the table and sleep. Once he was asleep, their task was to comb his hair and braid it while he slept.
Gives me the willies!
This should definitely become a series. Start with the “best beards” post from way back, and we’ll start one week with Porter’s long locks, the next with Orson Pratt, and the next with Geo. Q’s chin curtain…
Ha ha! We could recycle a lot of hairy photos that way, a sort of “Locks of Love” of our own.
