Probably just pamphlets and a few books. No sign of a Cristus statue…
Visitors also met guides here for tours of the grounds and public buildings.
I think I remember seeing that building in August 1967, but at the time it had been converted to an open air booth with men inside answering questions and handing out leaflets. It was west of the old church museum.
I wouldn’t have guessed it would have lasted so late, Steve, but maybe it, or a successor, did. Your description of answering questions and passing out leaflets certainly fits.
Seems odd to me too, Ardis. But it’s a memory I can’t unremember having seen. I’ll see if I can find any pictures from that era that maybe includes it.
