“America’s favorite cereal beverage?!” I’m sure I can think of some “grain-rich beverage” with a broader appeal…
I liked Postum too. Sorry they stopped making it, even though I can no longer drink it.
I drank Postum most of my early adult life and miss it even today. When I got married my young bride was very distraught after observing me drink Postum most mornings. Even though I was an RM and we married in the St. George Temple, she cried at night thinking I had lost my way and was drinking coffee. After she confronted me about my bad choice, I explained what it was. She had never heard of it (convert). We had a few good laughs over that issue. She tried it once and hated it. Now having said all that, I’m thinking that a Postum shake does not sound very tasty.
Someone is bound to mention sooner or later that Postum is back, through a new maker. It isn’t at all the same, though, much too sweet and making a thinner brew so that it isn’t very satisfying to drink. But come to think of it, if I had to drink a Postum shake, maybe the new too-sweet Postum would be better to use.
