  1. What does it say on the base of the monument? I can’t blow it up enough to tell. I’m wondering if it is a real one that I should recognize, or not.

  2. It’s the monument at Sharon, Vermont, dedicated that month: “Sacred to the memory of Joseph Smith the Prophet …”

  3. That was one of my top guesses, but I haven’t actually seen it for . . . decades . . . so I wasn’t sure.

  4. The monument now has a pyramid top, but the image makes it look like a flat top. Is the image misleading (is the pyramid top hidden from view?), or was the pyramid top added later?

  5. The pyramid is original, and it’s visible even when you’re standing very close to the monument. Hard to understand why it appears this way here.
