Another great selection. Thanks, Ardis.
Always great to see the Winnipeg, Canada Elders!!! In Aug. of 1914 Elder Whitney of the Twelve dedicated the newly built chapel, which still stands but not in use by our Church.
When I posted this, I hoped Gary would stop by; when I plugged in the Winnipeg picture, I knew it would catch cameron’s eye. π I love you guys.
You know me well, Ardis … π
The Elders of St Johns, Kansas. Most likely sent there to preach to the Bickertonites, the Mormon splinter group associated with Sidney Rigdon.
Cute picture of the Richards family.
Charles Callis being in the Ohio picture means it was in the Southern States Mission at the time. The name Gustav Drechsel caught my eye and I wondered if he was a missionary evacuated from Germany at the start of the war, but the timeline wouldn’t work quite right, and his biography says he was called to the Southern States Mission.
Thank you! it’s crazy to think that in my ward alone we have 4 missionaries and there are 6 wards in the city but back then, just the 6 for the whole city
I’ve missed looking at these Latter-day Saint Images . . . Probably my favorite series at Keepa. Thank you.
I’ll try to put them together regularly, David. Don’t know why I let them slip for so long.
