2. I’ve an old book on the shelves stamped that it was once property of the Deseret Sunday School Union. I’d no idea that it actually had a physical presence beyond a room or two in an office building somewhere in Salt Lake. It’d be interesting to see whats in that space today.

3. This is the business that became Deseret Book, STW. I *think* (but am not absolutely positive) that the building in this picture was their store on South Temple across from the old Church Administration Building, where Deseret Book was still located until the malls were torn down a few years ago to make way for City Creek; I think that’s the Templeton Building to the right (west) of the bookstore. Any specialists in old Salt Lake around to correct or verify?

   The Deseret Sunday School Union was the formal name of the Sunday School — you’ll see that name on a lot of hymnbooks, for instance; your book belonged either to the general Sunday School library, or perhaps to a ward Sunday School.

4. Ooh! More Utah brass bands! Looks like I’ll have to expand my list.
