Interesting. Question: what is the (singular) “Utah Indian War”? The Black Hawk wars? (And why Springville?)
Why am I not surprised it’s Springville?
The typesetter got both names wrong. Gottfredson is familiar as the author of one of the histories of the Black Hawk War, and the Commander-in-Chief seems to be Joseph Moroni Westwood (1844-1929) of (of course) Springville.
And if we’re talking typos above, I’ll add “Vetrerans.” Oops.
