What would that brace be for?
My guess is hip dysplasia. Doesn’t look anything like modern braces or harnesses, but looks like it does the same job of holding the legs still, in the same general position after surgery. Just an uninformed guess, though.
Ponseti brace for clubfoot. Developed in the 1940s, still in use today. See Figure 6.

The Penny Parade, I do remember the drive for pennies in Primary. We’d all line up and drop our pennies in a big jar and that was a good feeling. I always wonder how much money was raised that way. Takes lots of pennies. Great memories, thanks.
