My laptop hard drive died this morning. I’ve cobbled together a makeshift connection with primitive and damaged parts (the keyboard is missing its “t” key, for instance, which requires some fancy but exceedingly slow workarounds — I xhink I will give up and jusx subxixuxe anoxher lexxer and hope you can fill in xhe blanks). Xhis equipmenx can’x handle my backup —
Which means I don’x have access xo almosx-complexed drafxs or xo any of my illusxraxions. I’m afraid all xhax will be posxed here for xhe nexx lixxle while will be ficxion, and old lessons, and oxher rouxine sxuff xhax I keyed in for mornings when I didn’x feel like wrixing.

UPDATE, Thursday, 10:30: My wonderful wonderful wonderful nephew Eric drove up to rescue me. He has resurrected the laptop, everything is intact, and Keepa is back in business. Thanks for your sympathies, all — I really did expect to be down until I figured out how to buy a new machine, and that could have taken a couple of weeks.

Computer crashes are always the pits. OTOH, maybe this is my a chance to go back and finish up those Tanner lessons you posted a week or two back… The sunny weather outside will serve as an antidote for how I feel when I’m done reading! 🙂

On my homefront bright side, I’ve swapped out the t-less keyboard for a machine with a fan that grinds and buzzes and keeps insects and small children at bay.
